WKP356: Structured Workplace Learning Placement - Information Technology

Students have the option to include an Industry and Professional Experience Program placement within their degree. The placement will be instituted within organisations appropriate to the course of study. Students will be formally supervised by an academic staff member from their course of study but will also come under the direction of their employer. Both the academic supervisor and the employer, in consultation, will assess the unit. The unit includes some workshops to prepare the students for the workplace experience.

Prerequisites	Permission of Program Chair. Students will have completed Part I studies, and would normally be in their final year of study and achieved a GPA of 2.5 (out of 4).
Notes	Disclaimer: Where work placement is a required component of a course, the University will make reasonable endeavours to locate one for enrolled students. However, it cannot guarantee that it will be able to do so for every student. Ultimately, the acceptance of any student for work placement is a decision for the external employer, based on the circumstances prevailing at the time.
