| Unit Description: | Study at greater depth major blocks of Old Testament material, enabling further skills development in exegetical approaches while examining literary, historical, sociological and theological features of blocks of material other than those previously studied. Greater use will be made of Biblical Hebrew, but ability to read Hebrew is not essential. Two assessment options will be available, one based on the English text and the other primarily using Hebrew. This unit may be taken more than once, with different content. |

| Contact Time: | Lectures/seminars/tutorials: 3 hours per week. |
| Exclusions: | Students who have successfully completed this unit or S420 Historical Literature of Israel or S421 Prophetic Literature of Israel may enrol in the parallel higher-level unit for credit and vice versa where the selected writings are different. |
