STP303: Community Organisations, from Social Justice to Sustainability: the Role of the Third Sector
Non-government organisations and community groups play an important advocacy and service provision role in Australia and internationally. This unit will explore the varied roles this Third Sector plays and the policy framework in which they operate. In particular it will address the issues of efficacy, philanthropy, representation, the blurring of the boundaries between government, business and civil society and the dynamic and transformative power of positive engagement.
