| Unit Description: | This unit is taught intensively during the first non-teaching week in first semester by Murdoch staff, urban designers and guest lecturers from local government, other state agencies and the private sector. Aim: to develop a working understanding of the core concepts involved in urban design and how these are applied to develop more sustainable urban places. The learning experience is enriched by the participation of people from government, industry and community organisations who undertake the unit on a non-accredited basis. |

| Contact Time: | Students are expected to complete preliminary readings before the one-week on-campus intensive lecture period which will be undertaken during the week after Easter (25/3/08-28/3/08). |
| Exclusions: | Students who have successfully completed R240/STP240/R440 Special Topics in Sustainable Development: Sustainable Urban Design may not enrol in this unit for credit. |
