| Unit Description: | The purpose of this unit is to develop knowledge of the practical, conceptual and policy aspects of ecologically sustainable development. The unit reviews the global mandate for sustainable development but focuses on its implementation at a local level. Case studies relating to coasts, land use, tourism and energy use are explored. |
