School: School of Social Sciences and Humanities
Unit Description: Rapid social and technological change and related processes, such as those of globalisation and individualisation, means we now seem less able to take our everyday lives for granted. This unit illustrates how the study of sociology, a discipline that is currently not well understood in our community, can enhance our ability to reflect upon and respond to these processes.
Enrolment Options:
MURDOCH: Semester 2, Internal
MURDOCH: Semester 2, External
ROCKINGHAM: Semester 2, Internal
Contact Time: Lectures/seminars/tutorials: up to 3 hours per week.
Notes: Students who have successfully completed S136/SOC136 Communities and Social Change are not required to take SOC105 as a core unit for Sociology and Community Development majors but may take this unit as a general elective.
