PSY357: Psychology: Safety, Errors and Accidents

This unit examines contemporary issues in industrial and organisational settings. The topics will provide students with an overview into psychological issues in the I/O sector, such as: job design and working conditions; error detection and management; accident and disaster investigation; organisation culture and safety; occupational health and safety responsibilities; and product and process responsibilities and liabilities. Theories will be discussed and critically evaluated along with an examination of case studies from the transportation, chemical and nuclear industries.
