PSY353: Psychology: Cognitive Processes
Cognitive psychology explores the fascinating complexity of mental processes in all their forms and the field has derived enormous impetus in recent years from insights gained in disciplines as diverse as neuropsychology, neuroanatomy, imaging technologies, artificial intelligence, philosophy of mind, and psycholinguistics. The main topics will include: biological and neuropsychological foundations of mental processes; attention; memory systems; the organisation of knowledge; structure of language; cognitive processes in speech and language; mental concepts and categories; and problem-solving.
