| Unit Description: | This unit develops strengths in conversation, reading, listening comprehension and writing, with grammar and style taught in relation to these components. Indonesian is used increasingly in instruction and class communication. Students use DVD materials, featuring contemporary conversational Indonesian used within an educational context, and read synchronised newspaper articles. Students who have previously studied Indonesian at year 11 or above may enrol into this unit or IND362 on the basis of assessment by the Unit Coordinator. |

| Contact Time: | Small group instruction/language workshops: 3 hours per week (hours may be adapted to class size). |
| Exclusions: | Students from countries where Indonesian or Malay is a partial or complete medium of instruction in the educational system, or native speakers of the language, may not usually enrol in this unit for credit. |
