Unit Description: Some of the events and themes examined in this unit include the social impact of war, economic depression and the rapid cultural change Australia has undergone in recent decades. There will be opportunity to discuss issues of power, class, gender, ethnicity, nationalism and culture. Students will also be introduced to a variety of historical sources.
