Unit Description: This unit introduces students to a range of contemporary theoretical approaches to the study of literature, with a particular emphasis on postmodernism, post-structuralism and postcolonialism. An understanding of literary theory is developed through critical readings of several works of literature, including a number of contemporary texts.
Enrolment Options:
EGL354MURDOCH: Semester 1, Internal
EGL554MURDOCH: Semester 1, Internal
Contact Time: Lectures: 1 hour per week; tutorials: 1.5 hours per week.
Exclusions: Students who have successfully completed H289/H426 Literary Theory II may not enrol in this unit for credit.
Notes: Fourth-year undergraduate, Honours and postgraduate students should enrol in the higher-level code for this unit.
