| Unit Description: | In this unit we examine at an advanced level how the genetic material controls various activities in bacterial, plant and animal cells. Topics in the lecture component include DNA replication; DNA recombination; regulation of gene expression; molecular mechanisms of development, stress tolerance and signal transduction; mutation and DNA repair. The laboratory component consists of a research project. |
