BIO215: Bodies of Evidence

This unit focuses on the collection and presentation of evidence derived from the biological and chemical investigation of homicide. It introduces the role of the Coroner's Court and discusses evidence derived from the key disciplines of forensic pathology, forensic anthropology, forensic botany and forensic chemistry. A complex murder case is investigated and the evidence is presented in a moot court. Protocols for the collection and presentation of evidence including chain of custody, expert testimony and forensic report writing are emphasised.

Contact Time	Lectures/workshops: 3 hours per week; laboratories: 20 hours per semester. Some lectures and workshops are held in the non-teaching weeks during the semester.
